Rundlett Middle School

Welcome to Blue Duke Nation!

Performance Ensemble Group - PEG

P.E.G

Rundlett Middle School's after school theatre program - the Performance Ensemble Group, or PEG, as it's called - performs two shows each year. In the fall, we present a "straight" (non-musical) play, and in the spring, we produce a musical.

  • PEG is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th graders who have an interest in either performing on stage as cast members or working backstage as a crew member in the various roles needed to bring a live theatrical show to life!

Spamalot Auditions

Music Audition:

  • For Lady of the Lake: please audition with “Whatever Happened to My Part” from the beginning until the lyric Taylor Swift. The sheet music and tracks are posted in the Singing Audition Materials folder.
  • For any other character: Select about a minute of an upbeat song from a musical. Please use a backing track (karaoke tracks are fine). There will be a bluetooth speaker to connect to and this is one instance where yes you can have a phone with the music on it or look it up on one of the iPads in the room.
  • If you don’t know what to do and are not familiar with songs from musicals you can learn the song Find Your Grail. The sheet music and tracks are in the Singing Audition Materials folder.

Acting Audition:

  • There are 6 sides to choose from in the Acting Audition folder in Audition Materials. We know it doesn’t cover every character but pick one that you feel shows your acting ability. These do not need to be memorized, Karen is looking for your ability to portray a character.

Movement Audition:

  • Caleb is not able to be at auditions so he has recorded a video of the dance that we expect you to learn to the best of your ability. There will be two assistants at auditions to check you in and review it with you but there will not be time to teach you the whole dance so please do your best to learn it. After reviewing it you will perform the dance for Karen and Mrs. Allard during your singing/acting audition time slot.

PREPARATION

  • Auditionees MUST arrive for their audition with the choreography learned and rehearsed - Lydia and Maddie WILL NOT teach it. They will review it with the audition groups, yes - teach the dance? NO.
  • Add a reminder that the audition side (scene) you choose should ALSO be prepared and rehearsed, although it does not need to be memorized.
  • AND your audition song should ALSO be prepared and rehearsed, and yes, memorized.

Show us that you are serious!
